Gil Kane and Robert Crumb

This month's repeat from The Comics Journal audiotape archive is a recording of a 1986 Dallas Con panel discussion between veteran mainstream cartoonist Gil Kane and underground comix pioneer Robert Crumb, moderated by Journal editor Gary Groth and published in transcript form in Comics Journal #113. The two artists discuss and evaluate each other's work, and compare styles and approaches to the craft in this absorbing meeting of the comic book medium's two most contentious camps.
