2nd header. The first guest designer. Magnus Sandberg of the fantastic vinyl sharity site (now defunct) Bellybongo made this and it was used between Sept - Nov 2004.
Watch it on Wayback Machine.
The design was a collaboration between jayKayEss and mrdantefontana. From June 2011- August 2011.
Note: Some shortlived headers have been lost. I especially remember the header we used between March - June 2005. The site had a green touch and the header was greenish with the guys from Thore Callmars dance orchestra.
7 years ago today PCL LinkDump (as we know it) was born. This was before YouTube and long before MySpace and - even later on - Facebook became houshold names. Blogs had been published on the net since the late 1990s but had just started to grow popular in 2003-2004 when blogger.com had been purchased by Google from PyraLabs and made the publishing tool better and much easier to use. Much has happened since. Blogs are not the new black anymore. Nowadays everyone hangs around Facebook (incl. me) creating a net experience that are more mainstream and probably duller than ever before. But we are stuck together like glue re-posting funny videos, petitions and events like there was no tomorrow with the firm believe that someone cares. How did this happen?
I'm not sure. And I'm not upset. Just sad. I use Facebook as much as anyone (or maybe even a little more ..). And Facebook is probably not entirely bad.
PCL linkDump, on the other hand, hasn't changed much from the start. Well it has had numerous succesful or not so successful re-designs, several contributors which since have moved on to other projects or total obscurity (or just ruthlessly got sacked) and a number of internal bleedings. Back when I started it all there was only me. We are now going into our 8:th year with 20 contributors and more determined to rule world than ever. At least we fantazise about it. But I can promise you that won't happen. That's just not us - the megalomania is.
We march on, just like the dynamic party bitches we all are.
If you happened to just come across PCL and dig us I have good news for you! We are also available via our Facebook page! It's a deluxe package. Dig it!

A year ago we changed address to pcllinkdumpatgmail.com.
The old one which was associated with my username still gets almost all emails that should been sent to the blog. The address associated with my username is now my private address used for electronic communication with internet friends.
From now on If you send things to that old address intended to end up on PCL it will get deleted immediately. Now I'm f***ing tired of explaining where to send it/or unsubbing lists. If you send emails to that old address just means you haven't got a clue and haven't read the blog.
PCL is looking for a couple of cool gals or pals who are dying to become PCL Elite. What is PCL Elite? you may ask.
PCL Elite is the team of contributors making PCL LinkDump the greatest, most bad-ass pop cultural trash can in the world.
If you like what we are doing and understand what we are aiming for (WORLD DOMINATION) please do not hesitate: send me an email at mrdantefontana at gmail.com and tell me who you are and why you want to become PCL Elite.
"And our love is an antique song For children's carousels"
That's the moral of the beautiful Scott Walker song Copenhagen. And I guess those words are a nice way to sum up my feelings after the first ever big PCL summit.
When baikinange and yours truly (yes, that's mrdantefontana to you) met in Copenhagen this Friday it was only the second time ever I met somone befriended on the internets. It's not that I'm overly shy. It's just like that most people I've learned to know and love live far away in distant underdeveloped countries. Don't you know that Sweden is the center of the world? And another reason behind my obscurity is probably the fact that you all are crazy as hell and I don't want to get infected.
But let me tell you, Ange and I, had some swell hours. It's difficult to describe my feelings because PCL has been such an important thing for me during the six years I have been doing this. Between 2004-2007 I blogged myself through hell and back again. The power suddenly left me in the dark. I had no visions, no urge, no stamina at all to make me continue what I started here. Though I still loved and cherished these pages I didn't have it in me no more. But friends come to the rescue. First it was as guest bloggers - then as regular contributors. I love you all for helping PCL continue it's mission. But most of all I love Ange for coming along almost adopting PCL, breathing new life into the old weary ghost.
Baikinange is now co-managing the blog with me. But, seriously, this blog is hers as much as mine. So it was a delight meeting this person describing herself so very refined and detailed: "I will be wearing black and I look sarcastic."
It turned out to be no problem.
We had alot to talk about, and we shared some good laughs. No photos were taken. Let me tell you we both dress in black and look sarcastic. Get the picture? But this happened. It really did!
If you haven't noticed it yet. We are on Facebook. It's the same lame shit as here but spiced with occasional bonus thingies from Baikinange and Me. Nothing new. Same old. Yada yada. And, yes, we rule!
Six years ago (or to be more precise: 6 years and 2 days ago) I started this blog. Good times! .... and bad. But mostly I'm fascinated over the fact that PCL is still here. Of course a big reason for that is Baikinange whom continues to post pop cultural gems in an endless stream that never seem to run dry. And I thank her for that! Me, I probably out-posted myself during the first intense 3 years and is still recovering from the hangover. But I'm still here. Not on my toes. But still. Enjoying what's going on. Also big thanks to Donna, Jan and the rest of the awesomest PCL Team on the planet. Dynamic Party Blogging!
I love all of you!
Let's hope for another bumpy 6 years!

Ps. But, hello Houston! We have a problem!!!! But I'll get back to you on that one. I do not want to mess this happy anniversary post with crappy problems. Later....
