Wazmo and the Germ Proof Cleaners

Tops on the Baikinange Hit Parade in the early 80s was IRS and Stiff recording artist Wazmo Nariz, best known outside the Chicago area as much for his habit of simultaneously wearing two ties as for his music (meaning, hardly at all). I think I would describe the Waz as sort of a male version of Lene Lovich. Or as it says on the IRS Corner site: "Wazmo and his band were really too weird to be mainstream but not strange enough to truly be avant-garde". Hey, but who cares, when you're singing snappy little tunes about the Germ Proof Cleaners or Chicago's Wacker Drive, or just Checking out the Checkout Girl.

Wazmo's 1979 album Things Aren't Right is available on PVAc to 44.1 kHz, for which I thank them.
