I just found this on my daily yodel-video-hunting routine.

I Remember You
One of the PCL "Usual Gang Of Idiots" sent me a compilation disc some time ago that recently resurfaced after years of hiding in my drug infested glove box. No title or handwritten liner notes - just a title - Stop - scrawled on the disc in illiterate Sharpie. Included in the mix was everything from Nat King Cole to Yma Sumac to some aberrant Cuban/French inflected jazz. Anyone own up to this?
My family is ready to disown me for the constant rotation. One of the highlights is this version of I Remember You by Frank Ifield
The high register is a little unnerving but I am eternally grateful.

Mule Skinner Blues
The answer to the eternal question, what is suitable attire at a mule skinnery? And don't forget the orangejuice can rollers for the hair the night before.

Yodelling Overtures
Yodeling is much like other music genres. We have lo-fi yodel and symphonic yodel and the whole spectre in-between.
Look what may have happened if you had taken, say Caroline, of the DeZurik Sisters, and married her to a filthy rich Australian gold mining entrepeneur. She get to live in a castle full of flowers and maids. She would have EVERYTHING a girl would dream of; hundreds of dresses, diamonds, chocolate in silvery shrines in every which one of the 59 rooms, not having to work for a living. Luxury.
Her yodeling would slowly start to change. And here is the final result:

The DeZurik Sisters - Hillbilly Bill
We have blogged about The DeZurik Sisters and their patented yodeling style before here. But I dont think we have published any tv footage of them before. So. Here is a clip from the Old American Barn Dance with them. Cackle away girls!

Yippie-ay-ão
I cannot possibly overstate the awesomeness of this collection of Brazilian cowboy music (in Portuguese) by Bob Nelson & Seus Rancheiros, resplendent with yodeling, whip cracks, coconut shell clip-clops, lowing cattle, and hmmmm, what's that, perhaps the throaty warble of the capybara? Not so sure, but what IS certain is my undying rapture with its veritable existence.

The DeZurik Sisters.... Revisited
Checking the massive PCL archives, I see that it has been over 4 years since we last visited the incredible DeZurik Sisters. Here they are doing the country standard "Old Dan Tucker".
Lifted from Coisas do Arco da Velha
Edit by mrdantefontana: Yes, and The PCL Vinyl and Compilation Archives also carries this comp. with 6 enriching Dezurik tracks.

Play that Sax, Max

There's the slightly suaver side of Max Greger on the 4-song EP available at Yayo Salva Musical...followed by oom-pah Max backing a yodelin' Master (mistress?) Maria Hellwig, from a 1950s German TV program.

The Yodeling Belgian Cowboy
I always wondered what was special about Belgium, and I think Bobbejaan Schoepen has the answer. Or perhaps not.
Found at a visit to Mademoiselle Montana Yodel Heaven, who had linked to my post of an album by the undisputed highest yodeler ever, Elton Britt.

Week 54 - Oddities, Dezurik Sisters
The Dezurik Sisters are probably more well known as the Cackle Sisters, a more apt name when describing their singing style. They didn´t release many commercial recordings in their day, only three 78s on the Vocalion label in the late 1930s. Quite lovely.
