The Pussy Cat Song - Connie Vannett
Appearing In The Motel Lounge has become a daily fix in my travels. Mark Betcher brings the noise with each and every post and I've finally decided to pay tribute after stealing his shit for the past few months. Take a peek if obscure lounge act recordings and vinyl rarities float your boat.
Risking the consternation of my neighbors and family, his sharities are eating up many GB's of my hard drive.
You'd be wise to wander on over.
The latest grab is this double entendre number performed by a Connie Vannett that has risen to the top of the Yuma charts.

The song "ne tirez pas sur l'organiste" (don't shoot the organist) is so weird, composed by Jean Ferrat and Alain Goraguer in 1968, it is a strange little piece of music with spectacular sound effects and a latin feeling!Face A: à Santiago
Face B: ne tirez pas sur l'organiste
Thanks to Frog n' roll for sharing this rare record with me, i mean with us.

Tell Us a Story, Uncle Jazzbeaux!

Have we all been good little hipsters lately? Great! Then Uncle Al "Jazzbeaux" Collins will tuck us all in, and tell us a hip bedtime story. Uncle Slim Gaillard is also on hand doing the all important Spanish translations-o'vouty, and Uncle Steve Allen provides the background music.
Thanks Flying Dutchman Records!

A World of Weirdness

Here's a Norwegian blog I plan on spending a lot of time at....in less than a half hour I've already added a children's choir version of "These Boots are Made for Walking", Music to Watch Space Girls By, a tune by Anna-Lisa Ingemanson, the Swedish Mrs. Miller, and enough yodel and twist songs to make my iPod sparkle for ages and ages.
Another great source for odd music is my Facebook group Oddball Music Blogs -- many of the participants own their own strange music blog, and share links to what THEY listen to and download. That should keep you busy for a while!

Re-up Time at Boot Sale

Hurry hurry, my friends, it's re-up time at Boot Sale Sounds, so you get a second chance to grab downloads such as Yiddisher Yodeler by George Van Dusen (his Yodeling Chinaman is one of my iPod treasures!), the Gossip Calypso by Bernard Cribbins, and the mega-strange Happy Monsters children's album--Clap Your Tentacles is essentially Papa's Got a Brand New Bag with bizarro percussion and squeaking rubber duckies. Perfect for grabbing control of a kids party away from Raffi and Barney, or whatever musical horrors kids are subjected to these days.
