Tics and Tones
Hot off the presses.... a new half hour mix Tics and Tones, in which Screamin' Jay, Yma, the very Rev. Fred Lane, Perez Prado, Cab Calloway, and many more regale us with socially unacceptable oral tics and vocal ejaculations to which we can gyrate our newly unmedicated bodies in an inappropriate and uncontrolled manner.

Seducing Down the Panel
John Cale on I've Got a Secret
Via Classic Television Showbiz and WFMU
Dig that thick (not so thick now, I think) Welsh accent! Cale played Satie at a concert that lasted for 18 hours and his co-contestant sat through it all. Or, he Sat-ie through it all. (Yes, I DO acknowledge that I am a comedic genius, now dry your eyes)

The ORIGINAL Mr. T
From The Letter People, the original low-budget alternative to Sesame Street. If I remember correctly, at the end of each episode they'd all appear on a game show where they'd have to spell out words by lining up and
I have a friend in his mid-30's who still claims to be terrified of these puppets.

"Salto" by Tadeusz Konwicki (1965)
Amazing polish actor Zbigniew Cybulski "dancing?" on a strange and hypnotic song composed by Wojciech Kilar. This excerpt is coming from the movie "Salto" by writer/director Tadeusz Kowicki. One can lunch with him in Warsaw! Yes, always at the same hour and in the same restaurant, which is in the cellars of his publisher, Czytelnik.(i read this on the french version of his wiki page!)

The Softer Side of Sammy
Here's a little history lesson for those of you who think of Sammy Davis Jr. only as a Rat Pack lawn ornament, or Republican ass-kissing Candyman Smarm-King (and of course I mean that in the nicest possible way)....at one time the guy could really dance, and he did some snappy (late) big band era tunes.

Les Rita Mitsouko - Marcia Baile
Incredibly weird and sexy 1985 video from French band Les Rita Mitsouko. Apparently this song was a huge hit in France.
Fred Chichin (the guitarist) died last November-- I only just found that out today.
I believe that Catherine Ringer won the 1985 International Pointy Boob award for this video.
Los Locos del Ritmo

I would say it's about time to get loco with some of that there ritmo, wouldn't you?
