Da Khwar Lasme Spogmay

Die,Danger,Die,Die,Kill! always satisfies. One of their latest offerings is the depraved and shameless Pakastani film, Da Khwar Lasme Spogmay.


The film's merits and storyline are expertly detailed in the post:

Despite being classified as a horror film, DKLS is in equal parts an ill conceived superhero tale, a mangy hybrid of Catwoman and The Incredible Hulk. Its heroine, Banno, is a young woman who periodically transforms into a ferocious half cat, half human creature and prowls the night in search of rapists. In the opening scene, she catches one such devil in the act, and, after gruesomely mauling him with her knife-like claws, uses her telekinetic vision to spread his legs apart so that she may more easily ram a huge tree branch up his ass. Yow! In classic Pashto film tradition, this sequence is accompanied by abundant stock footage of thunder and lighting, a blaring and ceaselessly hectoring music track, and teeth rattling sound effects that include a heavily reverbed cat's yowl.

Not so sure Kenneth Anger wasn't involved in this. It's one of the stranger things I have ever seen.

In a previous post i mentioned the song Ekkoleg which is the opening theme from Fernando Arrabal's picture "Viva la muerte". A very haunting song, naive and disturbing. Please do experience that feeling.

Human Highway

Neil Young, Devo, Dennis Hopper, Russ Tamblyn, Dean Stockwell spend $3,000,00 of Neil's cash on this 1982 "comedy" which defies explanation or reason.
Released in 1995 for VHS consumption, it is an apocalyptic film detailing the last day on earth with the last man standing portrayed by "Booji Boy". I see that copies of it are selling on eBay for mucho dinero.

Psychotronic Film Posters and Fumetti Covers

While I consider it a bit tacky to link to myself, I wanted to share this gallery of movie posters and one-sheets I recently created as a companion piece to my collection of title cards from cheesy sci-fi, schlock horror, cult, and all-around Psychotronic filmage. Picasso once said that good taste is the enemy of creativity, and with their twisted imagery, bizarre fonts, and sensational subject matter, I think these posters prove that the old Cubist sex-fiend was right.

J.X. Williams

Rummaging 'round the net I have seen a few posts of late pertaining to filmmaker and underground legend, JX Williams.

The J.X. Williams Archive reveals some of the secrets of JX's life story. His bio runs the gamut from Communist witch hunts to Mob porn film producer and director.

His early credits include: The 400 Blow Jobs, A Streetwalker Named Desire and It's a Wonderful Lay. Fleeing to Europe after being convicted of tax evasion he made his Citizen Kane - Peep Show


It's a great story but not everyone believes it. Some suggest that Williams is a figure invented by Noel Lawrence, author and creator of Otherzine. No less an authority than the NY Times Paul Cullum raises the questions regarding the authenticity of the filmmaker in this piece:Wrapped In An Enigma

Its been years since I have heard this song and seen the film Performance.

Richard Schickel, legendary film critic for Time magazine, described it as "the most completely worthless film I have seen since I began reviewing." In retrospect, I gotta believe that Scorsese and Tarantino have both watched it multiple times.

Anyway, if you fine folks are familiar with the trashy movie poster goodness at Wrong Side of the Art, now's the perfect time to get acquainted. They've just moved to a new host with a new URL, so hopefully there won't be any more hassles from The TOS Man. The content is a little thin right now, but the mysterious, unnamed admin promises that the archives will be rebuilt very soon.

Watching these clips reminded me of my own foray into public-access horror-hosting back in the early '90s, Chester's Chillers [Link]. I'll have to check into getting some episodes up on YouScrewed.
