Walk Within My Brain
From the psychedelic and funk movement in Mexico in the late 60s/early 70s, Walk Within My Brain (Caminata Cerebral) by Love Army. The version in Spanish has a little more heart & soul, but here's the English version.

El Gran Popeye
This is from Los Rockers de Vercruz, not those other Los Rockers from, well, somewhere else entirely. The are Los Rocker who do a version of Popeye the Sailorman Twist, if that helps any.

4 Sale
I was looking for Mexican lobby Cards and ran across an imageless blog that had a bunch of them for sale with this Picasa link (like flickr only not fascist)..... he had a bunch of medium quality shots of his vast collection, and I found it a reasonably interesting shopping experience, even if I didn't buy anything:

Dr Lakra's Girls

I'm guessing this is yet another instance of me being totally unaware of an artist/musician/whatever that everyone else discovered ages ago, but until now I had been blissfully ignorant of the artwork and collages of Dr Lakra, a tattoo artist from Mexico City. Makes me wonder what else I've been napping through....

Mexico is Right

Ned Bunnell posted these great photos of Mexico recently to his blog...

But for the record, I would like to point out to those worried about illegal immigration that Mexicans are apparently better spellers of the English language than we are.

Exotica dance in 60s lucha libre movie

An exotica dance routine scene found while watching a cheap 60's Lucha Libre VCD brought back from Mexico by a friend of mine. (merci Mathias!)
Blue Demon Contra Los Cerebros Infernales (1968), Luchador, mad scientist and zombie pussies ... the perfect blend!

El Guardian Invisible

hyperdave tells us "... What can I say about El Guardian Invisible? These astounding comics from 1953 are Jack Chick-size booklets from Mexico with black and white interiors featuring the invisible hero fighting mummies, vampires and such. ..."
datajunkie is back in business. The show must - like always - go on!
