One can only imagine what kind of music Charlie Parker might have made had he managed to live past the age of 35 (let's all ingest our drug of choice to help us ponder the possibilities). For the real jazz snob (yes, I'm looking in the mirror) who spurns the cringeworthy Bird with Strings, it was even more difficult to listen to pre-chewed transcriptions of Parker solos scored for high school swing band that was Supersax Plays Bird--though the group provides provocative glimpses into how Bird might have further soiled his legacy had he still required a fix in the Seventies.
However, the addition of the Velveeta-esque L. A. Voices to the mix tips the scales into so-heinous-it's-temporarily-delightful territory (there is an actual algorithm involved, in case you're wondering).
