Denton's Got Go!

Ah, civic pride. And unjustifiable civic pride at that. Recordo Obscura gives us a 1967 album that sings the praises of the dynamic and vibrant city of Denton Texas. OK, you might not think it's dynamic and vibrant.....but, they're getting a NEW BANDSHELL!! Give a listen to the Jodie Lyons Singers!

My name is Tex & I am a serial re-blogger...

(Above representation of T. Tex's image by Charles Hancock)

Hello...
My name is T. Tex Edwards...
I was born in Dallas & now live in Austin Texas...

Since I am a serial re-blogger & usually re-blog one or more PCL Link Dump posts most every day...
When the cattle call went out for prospective new PCL contributors...
I jumped on it faster than a duck on a junebug...
My application to join the PCL Elite has just been approved by PCL's founder/H.B.I.C. -- Mr. Dante Fontana...
I thought I would share my winning entry with you folks out there in PCL land as an introduction to my world...

Mr Dante,

In Fort Worth Texas, back in the 1970's, there used to be a country DJ on KJIM radio named Shootin' Newton...
Shootin' Jim Newton was a slick-talkin' pitchman who rhymed as much as possible in his adverts...
There was a bar/venue in Saginaw, Tx called The Seven Acres Country Club...
In the ads for 7 Acres, Newton would say...
"Where the elite meet to slurp & burp..."

I would like to be a member of the elite...

Best,
T. Tex Edwards
Austin, Texas
