Jazzy music from the late 50s NBC drama M Squad, starring Lee Marvin. Former Ellington sideman Benny Carter did the arrangements and sax solos, so you know it's good stuff.

I am thrilled that I'm Learning to Share is back from hiatus, and even more thrilled that he linked to a very superior list of vintage TV theme music with their seldom-heard lyrics, posted several years back on You Don't Have to Visit This Blog. If you missed it when it was originally posted in 2006 (myself, I missed it because I had a dental appointment that day) you can still groove to Peggy Lee's Bewitched, Sarah Vaughn's Peter Gunn, Hugo Montenegro's I Dream of Jeannie, and the Hogan's Heroes theme performed by members of the show's cast.

My Favorite Martian

Yippee, Magic Carpet Burn has the theme song from My Favorite Martian and it has LYRICS, yes it does. Maybe today doesn't suck as bad as I first thought.

You don't know all the words to the Bonanza theme song? I'm sorry, I'm not sure I can be seen with you anymore. Don't feel bad, I didn't know them myself until I heard the great collection of TV theme songs from the 1959-60 TV season which contains the recognizable Bonanza and Twilight Zone themes, but better still, clunkers like "International Detective", "Johnny Staccato", "Men Into Space", and "Bourbon Street Beat".
