Jeff considered the seductive necromancer's offer. He didn't believe in witchcraft. The subject amused him, but he gave it no credence. Though, he knew, with her body alone, with its soft curves and plump hills and valleys... couldn't she make his problems go away for at least the night?

Rhoda Scott - Moanin'
"... Scott was first attracted to the organ in her father’s church at age seven. "It's really the most beautiful instrument in the world," she stated in a recent interview. "The first thing I did was take my shoes off and work the pedals." From then on she always played her church organ in her bare feet, and to this date she has continued the practice, earning her nicknames such as "The Barefoot Lady" and "The Barefoot Contessa." Following her lead, many other performers of popular organ music now also play barefoot. Because of her church training, however, Scott uses the pedals to play a genuine bass line, unlike many other jazz organists, which allows her to use her left hand for more elaborate chord work. The resulting music is an energetic fusion of musical styles that partakes of jazz, gospel, and classical, reflecting both Scott’s early experience and her formal training. ..." Cassette mix, 80s nostalghia
Charles at KrackPot tells us: "I uploaded a couple of MP3's that I made from a cassette tape I recorded from the Radio on Presidents Day in 1983. It was recorded from KUSF, a college radio station (University of San Francisco).
It is a great representation of the Music scene bot local and nationally at the time. I particularly like this set, and I have periodically listened to it over the years on tape. Having it in MP3 format will likely mean that I listen to it more often."

An Electric Religious Moog Symphony
New super stuff shared by Wiel's Time Capsule:
" This is a religious Moog album on the Light record label. You can tell that from the titles, but you can hardly hear it. The music is good and the Moog well used. It is played by Clark Gassman, the same guy who played the Moog on Martin Denny's Exotic Moog. Ralph Carmichael was the director. Carmichael wrote and arranged pop tunes for Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Perry Como, and Stan Freberg(!). And he composed for Bonanza, Lucy Ball and Danny Kaye shows. ..."

The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins -The Lost Footage
Another great discovery by Maiden Wine, The Ultimate Leonard Nimoy Music Site:
"Just about everybody who's anybody on the Internet has seen Leonard Nimoy's music video, The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins [Note: See for yourself here]. However, little has ever been established about when, where, and why it was made. In a Maiden Wine exclusive, we have found answers and more. And the Earth-shattering news is: the video that we all know and love is an edited, abbreviated version of the original video! After decades on the shelf, the world can now enjoy the full version of this legendary production, with an introduction to the song, complete instrumental break, and the ending in its entirety. ..."

The Cartoonist Talks
The Cartoonist has launched a podcast. It will be a series of podcasts called The Cartoonist Talks. I guess he thinks it's kind of boring just talking to himself so this series will probably also always present someone the Cartoonist discusses with as well. Kind of like an interview - but a little more lose and free spirit.
In this his first podcast he talks to Knox, singer of the "veteran" British punk band The Vibrators.
This is the first of 2 intallments of this "pub conversation".
Some samples of the music of the Vibrators can be heard as well.
I really liked this first podcast. If you like punk music, post-punk or just love music in general I think you really should subscribe to this podcast (via iTunes) . The rumour says the Cartoonist will meet up with other really cool characters in a near future. So, stay tuned.
Where in the world?
Don't forget to show me where you live so that I can visit you if I retire and want to start a new life in a new town in a new country. I've heard that it's hard being an ageing super famous ex-blogger. I need places I can go where I'll be able to walk the streets without being knocked to the concrete by crazy fans.
I'm not picky. I can sleep on the couch. But I want my coffee black and hot. And I love Filmjölk for breakfast!
