Sunshine Rabbits

Sunshine Rabbits is a band from my town Malmö, Sweden. Claiming to be the "founders of fur pop got soul" they are a quite spectacular party band. Their mix of re-cycled disco beats, energy and pure girl power is smittening. They are like the bad seeds of The Spice Girls on a guerrilla war for more fun for real party people. The videos are good fun!

Здравствуй,песня ("Hello Song!" in English) was a russian music ensemble which in 1979 recorded an album called "We Love Disco" (Мы любим диско) which was a flirt with the popular disco-era music from the west mainly made possible because of the winter Olympics 1980 in Moscow.
Here they are with a cover of Eruption's "One Way Ticket To the Moon":

Slothy's Pigeonshit offers the Disco Tex and the Sex-o-Lettes album --I prefer Slothy's title, Disco Tex and the Sex Omelets. I don't think this blog has ever referenced Monti Rock III, who was the frontman for this effort. Apparently this music was featured on an episode of the Simpsons, but nevertheless it's worthy to be included here.

Like any self-respecting nerdy kid in the late '70s, I lived and died with the original "Star Wars" trilogy. Meco's 1977 disco version of the "Star Wars" theme blew my 6-year-old mind when it came out, but somehow his 1983 follow-up version of the Ewok song from "Return of the Jedi" didn't cross my 12-year-old radar. If it had, I probably would have had a junior nerdgasm over it. But discovering it now as an adult, I can recognize it for the atrocity it is. Give it a try and at least try to stick around to the 3:52 mark when a rap by a bad C-3PO impersonator really sends it off the rails.
