Screaming Lord Sutch.....Live?

Screaming Lord Sutch joined forces with such luminaries as Ritchie Blackmore, Keith Moon and Noel Redding for his second album, recorded at Carshalton Park Rock 'n' Roll Festival in 1972. Yes, it's horrible and basically unlistenable, but would you really want it to be any other way?

Yesterday's home of the future

A place where nobody dared to go …

Watching Sleeper recently brought to mind Bob Masters and Roy Mason's Xanadu home in Kissimmee, Florida — two were also built in Wisconsin and Tennessee — and all were abandoned and demolished.
The experimental, computer-controlled polyurethane foam dwelling looked like it was plucked out of Ape City and set down in Disney's back yard.
The second video is from a German documentary and the uploader also has a five-part video of the abandoned interior.

Only the sign remains …

Billy Bond

Music by Billy Bond, born Juliano Canterini, who moved to Argentina and became part of the Psych/Acid scene in the early 70s.

I was loath to include the video below because of the way the owner marks his territory all over this video--it's so unnecessary to put graphics all over the place like this. But it's still a pretty great clip.

Stringbean - Hillbilly Fever

Yes, the audio quality is a bit poor but this is a good one. If you don't know of the terrible tale of Stringbean, click here. For an update, read the comments on the video I just posted.

Cramps Post Card

Postmarked May 19th, 1981. Mark Cheney was a professional punk rock photographer from the Delaware Valley, who produced these original postcards. Also a good guy who kept in touch. The reverse says, "....so the cat says to the sailor 'that's alot to swallow'" -Mark

A splendid photograph of Lux & Ivy.

another Aquarius cover

While preparing a Dutch language podcast I came across this album from 1973. It's an album to promote the cultural life of the village of Bergen (north of Amsterdam near the coast). This is the contribution of Ritmisch jeugdkoor Petrus en Paulus o.l.v. Ton Stroomer (=rhythmic youth choir Peter and Paul conducted by Ton Stroomer).
By the name of the choir and what I understand from the lyrics this is one of the many Catholic Youth choirs in that period in The Netherlands. Petrus and Paulus is the name of the Catholic church in Bergen and it seems the choir still exists.

This is for everyone who would like to hear yet another cover of Aquarius from Hair

The Potato Chip Song

I do not know the provenance of this photo. I have never met these people. It was in my old stuff. It may have been the drummer in my band's wife's relatives. Either way whatta head, no? It's like he's in a trance. Here is his song:

It goes on like that until only dogs can hear it.

Special Teenagers

I suppose the Roach can't be considered a "failed dance craze" because "performed by Ricki Lake in a John Waters movie" is the very definition of success. So we'll just spotlight the other assets of this EP by Dean and Jean, including the flat-out country tune "You Can't Be Happy By Yourself", and a version of Mack the Knife you can do a spirited version of the Pony to.

Roma, or Not

You might like this cheesy Italian accordion collection offered at Hector's, or you might prefer his EPs from Santo & Johnny and Dusty Springfield instead.

Pudgie's Pizza Radio Jingles

Pudgies Pizza is a chain of pizza restaurants located in Upstate New York and parts of Pennsylvania. To me, this was the only pizza there was. Sadly, my hometown Pudgies in Sayre, Pennsylvania is no longer in operation, but there are still more of them serving "goodtime" pizza and subs to lucky locals. My fondest memory is getting kicked out one night because an out of control friend of mine threw a slice of pizza across the room and flat onto the wall. We were banned for a month. Thanks.

Here's two radio jingles that bring back the memories of when all it took was a slice of pizza, some sunshine and smile on your face to make everything A-OK! I like the 70s jingle the best; short, catchy and funky! In typical 80s fashion, the jingle was doubled in length and the drum machine is pounding away while girls work out in leg warmers. But hey, it's all good. By the way, you'll hear mention of "Horseheads" in the 80s song. Horseheads is a small town in New York. Seems each Pudgies battles for superiority with other Pudgies!

Let's Go Bowling!

Some would say, who doesn't love a sport where you are not only allowed to drink copious quantities of beer, but encouraged to do so? But I suppose there would be a spoilsport like myself who suggests that maybe a better sport would be one that requires the use of chloroform, but there ya go. So if you would like some infectiously peppy music to go along with your festive funeral home-sponsored shirt and clown-y shoes previously worn by dozens of others with various levels of hygienic habits, this Bert Kaempfert album may be "up your alley".

Britches Adjustment

You know, you all are getting a little too big for your britches, I think it's time you be forced to listen to a little old fashioned cornball stupidity, bargain basement Spike Jones, cutout bin Hoosier Hotshots, otherwise known as the Korn Kobblers. This here is a song about a spittoon, if that makes you feel any better.
