Do The Jellyfish by Neil Sedaka

From the 1966 movie STING OF DEATH. The greatest movie ever made featuring a half man, half jellyfish villain. If you enjoy close-up shots of girls butts in tight pants, then this movie is for you!

Yesterday's home of the future

A place where nobody dared to go …

Watching Sleeper recently brought to mind Bob Masters and Roy Mason's Xanadu home in Kissimmee, Florida — two were also built in Wisconsin and Tennessee — and all were abandoned and demolished.
The experimental, computer-controlled polyurethane foam dwelling looked like it was plucked out of Ape City and set down in Disney's back yard.
The second video is from a German documentary and the uploader also has a five-part video of the abandoned interior.

Only the sign remains …

Party Time!

From Skinnergy's The Club Scene - Fort Walton Bch., FL, circa 1970s Flickr.
This is a big stack of pics that I scanned as a single collection. Most are 8"x10", but a few are snapshots. They represent something of a snapshot of the bar and entertainment scene in the Gulf Coast resort town of Fort Walton Bch, FL, circa 1970s. Most are of bands, entertainers and a few strippers.

Aquaglades

Does anyone have any info or memories of a Fort Lauderdale Florida roadside attraction called "Aquaglades"? (enlarged poster found here) I found this great original poster at a junk store recently, and figured I could find something about it online. All I located were two postcards of an alligator wrestler who worked there (which I immediately snagged) and a link to a picture of some Seminole women who were apparently hired for tourists to gawk at (we loved us some native people for photo ops back in the sixties, didn't we?).

I suppose it was just another small roadside attraction that died out when people stopped taking long road trips--but I guess I'll just have to keep looking for personal photos or recollections of the attraction (or best of all, Super 8 movies) to surface online one day.

Everybody's Talkin'

"Fred Neil wrote "Everybody's Talkin'" in five minutes at the end of a recording session in 1966 and recorded it immediately in a single take so he could take off and go back home to Miami. It's a great song and an unlikely standard that he probably never thought much of. It made him millions though after it was used in John Schlesinger's Midnight Cowboy (sung by Harry Nilsson) and was subsequently covered by at least a hundred other artists. Fred Neil spent the last 25 years of his life in Florida."
boogie woogie flu has got the original Fred Neil song as well as Harry Nilsson's more well-known rendition and some other nice versions. And a few great bonus tracks!
