Somethin' Smith & the Redheads

Somethin' Smith and the Redheads were regulars on the CBS TV series "Sing Along" in the 1950s, performing such oldies as Mississippi Mud, Ain't We Got Fun, and their one hit, "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie".. For me, they stand out from the typical banjo-soaked fun-time singalong nightmare due to the breezy but marginally lounge-y spin Mr. Smith (I don't really know him well enough to call him "Somethin'") puts on the moldy oldies.  Dig "By the Waters of the Minnetonka" below, and if you like, download the album here.
