Screaming Lord Sutch
The musical granddaddy of Alice Cooper & the Cramps, Screaming Lord Sutch had the wildest stage show in Britain in the 1960s, performing gore-sodden numbers such as Dracula's Daughter and Jack the Ripper. Though he assembled bands with such notable sidemen as Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Noel Redding, his albums often end up on critics’ “worst ever” lists.
Oh, and he ran for a seat in Parliament a few times, too, as the candidate for the Monster Raving Loony Party, making him a veritable Renaissance man of Kitsch.
