Lincoln Limousine

Not technically a car accident song, and you know I loathe those homemade youtubes, but ...
I couldn't resist.

It would have been better if he stayed at home, yes.

Gravestone Portraits

On a related note, Flickr is pissing the shit outta me with their incessant layers of logins and format for using "their" pictures. I have ALWAYS contacted the owner of the pics through Flickr mail and get permission to post before I fire. Maybe I'm just techno retarded. Any advice on how to avoid this garbage, send me a note.

Accident Songs: Be Careful of Stones That You Throw

This is a Hank Williams classic, and has been done many times, my favorite being Porter Wagoner's plaintive, unblinking in-your-face version on his show. Why isn't it on youtube? I chose one of our favorite singer of accident songs, Red Sovine, because of the glee he takes in injured kids and accidents. As is the case in most of these old tunes, a homemade youtuber will have to do. Enjoy.

PS. I can only imagine the accompaniment to Red's "Crying in the Chapel" would be a fifth.

RIP, Simon Dee

Another ultra-fab obit from the Telegraph!

Simon Dee, who died on August 30 aged 74, was arguably British television's first superstar; he invented the persona of the trendy talk show host and became a cultural icon in the 1960s, watched weekly by up to 18 million viewers before his precipitate fall from favour in 1970.

As Britain's best-known fallen star, Dee occupied an unenviable niche in the history of celebrity: "Simon Dee Syndrome" was said to describe those who were better known for losing their grip on fame than for what they did to earn it in the first place.

Yet during his three short years in the public glare, Dee lived the sex, drugs and rock-and-roll dream, hosting the most popular programme on television, having affairs with Hollywood actresses, befriending the Beatles, stepping out with Princess Margaret and making (and spending) prodigious amounts of money. As postwar television came of age, and the era of colour dawned, Dee was undoubtedly the medium's hottest ticket.

R.I.P. the Undead Film Critic??

On February 12th, 2009 the Undead Film Critic Blog died a quiet, unexpected death. While details are still sketchy, it is presumed that this sudden demise was the result of deletion, having violated Bloggers Terms of Service. An investigation is ongoing as to the individual who informed Blogger of said violation, but as of this writing their were no strong leads. Family has asked that in lue of flowers, Pin-ups should be sent to Percy Trout and The Scandy Man for publication and remembrances at their respective blogs. As we mourn this passing it should be remembered that while the body of our beloved Undead has been deeply damaged, his head remains intact. And as we all know, the only way to kill a zombie, is to remove the head. Undead, will have his REVENGE.

DA LUX

I was kinda waiting for others to post this one once I found out the rumors were true.

What can I can? As a teen they changed my life; I celebrated my 17th bday (Halloween) seeing them. I can't imagine there not being a Cramps. I got 96 tears in 96 eyes.

Look Dick, Look

I already know I'm going to hell, so when I found this fan-made video to Bobby Vinton's ode to the dead Jane, I nearly fell off my chair:
