Cuby and the blizzards

Dutch blues, formed in 1964 when Cuby joined up with some friends who got tired of the cover band they played for until then. After about a year the band was forced to turn professional when three of the band members lost their jobs due to long hair.

Their recording career started in ’65 with the recording of "Just for fun". Since then all their singles made the top twenty in Holland. In ’67 they won the Edison award, the Dutch equivalent of a Grammy.

In the late sixties and early seventies Cuby And The Blizzards were one of the most wanted bands on the European festival circuit where they played alongside The Fugs, The Nice, John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac, The Mothers of Invention, The Spencer Davis Group, The Small Faces, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jethro Tull, ...
