This guy is having A LOT of fun!

From Wiki: Silly Putty (also marketed by other companies as Thinking Putty, Bouncing Putty, Tricky Putty and Potty Putty), is the Crayola-owned trademark name for a class of silicone polymers. It is marketed today as a toy for children, but was originally created by accident during research into potential rubber substitutes for use by the United States in World War II. The company's manufacturer is based in Easton, Pennsylvania.

For about one year, 1950-51, the A.C. Gilbert Company of New Haven,
Connecticut (maker of the erector and chemistry sets for youngsters),
marketed a sophisticated toy, the "Gilbert Atomic Energy Lab." The
lab came with "three radioactive sources, a Geiger counter, and cloud
chamber where atoms could be split," according to a Univ. of Wisconsin
site. Although selling for the high price of $50 in the '50s,
production costs still outran its price tag, whereupon the atomic
energy lab was integrated into its chemistry sets for kids throughout

Well, I guess people were just too busy doing the ZONK! to pay attention to this little Pickwick ditty. The LP is pretty fun, but the only mod song is this title track. The rest of the LP is a lot of Mersey Beat songs with bad British accents and lots of "oooo's" and "yeaaahhh's". Pickwick must have had these songs from an older 1964 release and slapped them on this 1968 record. Go out and nab a Bump Ball for your next party... it could replace nude Twister! ~ Click on the images for hi-rez views.

From the back of the LP: The cats at Milton Bradley threw the Bump Ball into the teen scene and a whole new bag was born.  It's time the boys got closer to the girls, and this newest dance craze makes more fun than any historical fox-trot. There was also a 45 released by RCA Victor giving performing credit to "The Combinations", who do not seem to be the same band as "The Bumpers".

Is there a doctor in the house?

As of late, the looming illness that has been sucking the life from my body since my pre-teens took a turn for the worse. Two weeks ago, I ended up in the emergency room then was promptly transferred to a hospital room. I am deeper in debt yet I am alive.

At this point, I am not in the clear. No where near it…

I posted these items, these images for I adore vintage children's toys and stuff - but also as a homage to the doctors and nurses who helped me when no one else that I'd seen in the past (a "professional") - would.
