Manneken Pis Rock
There aren't enough songs written about famous statues that pee. I'm sure there are many more, but this song by Mad Unity is the only one I know of.

Do You Brush Your Teeth?
Belgian Marie Marie encourages proper dental hygiene in this 1980 French EP. I prefer gnawing on a Nylabone, myself.

Let Us Beat in Rio

Sometimes if you are patient, blogs that appear to be dead magically come back to life. Case in point, Twist and Frit'-- that introduced me to so many great Belgian pop tunes from the sixties-- just posted some new stuff after a year's hiatus. Quiet joy did ensue.

astronouts
Animation for Astronaut by Spinvis (Erik de Jong), from his self-titled debut album. Jules Spee made this for a school assignment (make an animation with the lyrics of a song).
Spinvis recorded another version of Astronaut with the Belgian female vocal group Laïs for "Nieuwegein aan Zee"
And Laïs made a complete rendition of their own:
Video by Spinvis himself:

In search for Maria
Here's hoping no-one has seen this 5 times allready ;-)
Just an ordinary Monday morning at Antwerp Central Station, three months ago.
stream in high quality
and I think the unedited version of one angle is even more spectacular:

Tabu Belgians
So you say you love the Belgian supergroups of the sixties? Bizarro exotica effects? TV lighting that leaves performers looking like washed out zombies? Well, don't say I never gave you anything, then.

The Cousins - Kana Kapila (1961)
Uploaded by Thundernest.(check the Spotnick's videos he uploaded).
The Cousins come from Belgium and had been very popular in the early 60's. THe song Killy Watch in 1961 starts their career, they had been touring in Africa and later Argentina and finally the band had broken up in 1967 with a last concert in Belgium.
You can download this song here from an excellent "vinyl sharity"
blog i've just discovered : Flash Athletic (blog in french)Kana Kapila by The Cousins is also featured on Jungle Exotica vol.1 a compilation released in 2000 on Crypt Records
(Trivia) ...
A rock n' roll surf band from my hometown The Orientals had made a cover of this song in 2001.
