One-man band spotted in my hood

This one man band was filmed in my hood a few days ago. He's got some sort of lo-fi acid trance going on there.

Here's another clip where he's experimenting with a sound that is more euro-techno-goes-Russia.

The Hasil Adkins Rejection Letters

"This week marks the arrival (April 29, 1937) and unfortunately the departure (April 25, 2005) of The Wildest One Man Band Hunch Machine that ever stalked the planet. ...
... Early on, he'd mail out his home-recorded concoctions to the country music stars of the day, hoping to place a song or grab a plum spot on a traveling package show. Like the rest of the world, Nashville would have to wait a few decades to get hep to Hasil's chicken walk-inspired genius."

" ... and my advice to you would be stay where you are and keep working at your singing and playing and maybe one day you will be able to come to Nashville.

Good luck to you

Sincerely,
Ernest Tubb"

The Wild World of Hasil "Haze" Adkins

"Short subject documentary by Julien Nitzberg about the legendary "psychobilly" musician and infamous wildman Hasil Adkins. Filming takes place in Adkins' own yard, his shack, and at various concerts. Adkins is notable for helping create an entirely new form of rock/rockabilly/country fusion, which he plays entirely by himself (with a guitar and drums simultaneously). Lynn Rockwell - One Man Band

"Bellybongo visitors may remember this LP, I had it up for d/l a few years ago. It's back again, I like it very much, Lynn seem bitter and angry somehow, and I can relate to that sadly enough. To me this is rocking music. God I am so tired... "
Come on guys, let's cheer Magnus up a little bit by paying Bellybongo a long visit!

One Man Band

Magnus says: "I guess you need to be somewhat lonely, or a visionary who can't stand other people's messy fingers, or a son of a bitch, or a genius to start a One Man Band, whatever the reasons, I always love these LPs, full of spirit."
