Swedish Smorgasbord

You don’t need to speak Swedish to enjoy today’s veritable smorgasbord of tacky musical treats, sent to me by a fellow blogger whose identity shall remain shrouded in mystery. Though I suspect he is just trying to distance himself from the music.

The kitschy compilation contains joyous salutes to cigarettes and hula hoops, a love song to the Beatles, inexplicably set to the tune of “Girl from Ipanema”, and an oozing rash of corny ricky-ticky cha cha, boogie, and twist numbers. Then there’s my favorite for the title alone, “Plywood Brothers” which seems to reference Duke Ellington, but I'm not sure.
