Somewhere in Europe

"In 1995, after getting laid off in Atlanta, GA, I saved up some cash and traveled in Europe for about 3 months. During the trip, I studied art, design, and culture, mostly from museums and street art. While in Berlin, I shot this photo of words written by Brecht. The image was 3 stories high, painted on the Reichstag via stencils. This was the first stencil I photographed, and I never stopped. I found more stencils in other European cities, and then found the mother lode when I moved to San Francisco's Mission District in 1997." (Russel H.)
